West Chattanooga: Downtown’s Last Frontier

West Chattanooga | xmarxpost | Jeremiah Reynolds

Neighborhoods: Cameron Harbor, College Hill Courts

Profile: Along the banks of the final stretch of the downtown river bend lies West Chattanooga. In recent history this area was mostly industrial with some office buildings, car dealerships and income restricted housing. New neighbors moved in high above on Cameron Hill (BlueCross BlueShield) and a new office complex or two came up, but the area remained pretty sparse on residential properties. Recently though announcements were made, then some earth was moved, and Chattanooga’s most recent riverfront development – Cameron Harbor was under way. This massive development featuring luxury apartment buildings, riverfront townhomes and craftsman style homes will also host an expansion of the Riverwalk park. With the success of this development hopefully we will continue to see more residential development in West Chattanooga.
